Prince Charles could ‘ditch’ Prince Harry and Meghan in Royal Family revamp

Prince Charles may “ditch” his own son, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan Markle from the Royal Family as he looks to streamline the monarchy to save money.

The revamp of the Firm would see a smaller but tighter unit of senior Royal Family members leading the way.

Royal biographer Angela Levin believes the next King wants to ‘cut the monarchy down’ in order to make it more efficient in the modern era.

Levin believes this will be the ideal opportunity to cut loose the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and draw a line in the sand.

The new royal outfit could include just Charles, Camilla, William, the Duchess of Cambridge, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte as senior royals, reports the MailOnline.

Other royals would be encouraged to support themselves and take up paid work.

Ms Levin said on talkRADIO: ‘Prince Charles has wanted for a very long time to cut the monarchy down to save costs and to make people be worth the money that they got from the taxpayer.

“I imagine that might be when Harry and Meghan are ditched from being members of the Royal family.

“I think the outer edge, which the Queen has wanted to keep together for a very long time for sentimental reasons, which at her age she didn’t really particularly want change which I think is understandable.

“But he wants to change and I think he will do that.”

Relationships between the Sussexes and the Firm have reportedly been at an all time low since Prince Harry and Meghan gave an interview to Oprah Winfrey.

The couple made a series of criticisms regarding Harry’s family. Hopes that Prince Philip’s funeral could help to heal the rift between both sides of the family do not seem to have materialised.

Meghan Markle is reportedly “prepared to heal the rift” she has with the Royal Family – if they apologise to her, a broadcaster has claimed.

Speaking on his TalkRADIO show, Kevin O’Sullivan has said Meghan is prepared to patch things up with her husband’s family.

He said: “”Meghan let it be known that she is prepared to heal the rift with the Royal Family so long as they apologise to her.

“I think people in this country think the apology should be coming in the opposite direction, that Harry and Meghan owe our Royal Family a huge apology for outrageously calling them racists.”
