Pawel Relowicz has been found guilty of raping and murdering Libby Squire.

The 21-year-old student vanished during a night out in Hull on January 31 2019, and her body was found in the Humber Estuary six weeks later.

Relowicz, a married father-of-two, denied the charges and maintained he had consensual sex with Ms Squire before leaving her alone on the night in question.

A jury at Sheffield Crown Court has rejected his version of events, returning a guilty verdict on Thursday after six days’ deliberation.

Ms Squire’s mum Lisa said the conviction two years after their daughter’s death “changes nothing for us, there is no closure”.
