Chantel sparked romance rumors with Drew in June 2020 while on a double date with his bandmate Alex Pall and his girlfriend.

The two confirmed their romance in July on social media; they shared a sweet kiss in the snap.

In 2017 she was brave to talk about her breast reduction and lift. She discussed her traumatic journey with her fans via a vlog so, she says, she can help her followers who are considering cosmetic alternations to their bodies.

The pinup spoke candidly about her bad experience.

She claimed stress made her weight fluctuate and she wanted to make sure her breasts remained the same size despite her yo-yo-ing figure.

At her most, she weighed 130 pounds, she said, while at other times she dropped to 100 pounds. That meant her bra size transitioned between a D cup and a B cup, she explained.

‘That’s a pretty big difference,’ she said in the video.

‘When you go from a D to a B and you’re losing that volume and weight, it does affect your breasts negatively,’ she stated. ‘It makes them more deflated-looking, saggy and it can give you stretch marks, so it just was not the best look.’

While she decided to get implants, in retrospect she claims she didn’t receive the best advice from the medical experts she sought out.

‘Just because they’re doctors, doesn’t mean they know everything,’ the 23-year-old Instagram celebrity cautioned.

She underwent a breast reduction and lift and shared a photo on Instagram showing off her minimized bosom.

‘If you’re considering breast implants, or taking them out and getting a lift, I hope that this video helps you,’ she told her social media followers.

‘Getting it done the first time hurts a lot, but the lift doesn’t hurt hardly as much,’ she said encouragingly.

Brooke Burke is in incredible shape especially considering she is in her forties and it may be because she is always altering her workout routine to keep it fun.

Chic Me - World

The Dancing With The Stars veteran told DailyMail.com this week that she has included a new routine into her workout sessions during lockdown from the COVID-19 pandemic: walking.

The Skechers spokesperson shared that even walking 20 minutes a day can help not just with keeping the weight off, but also with mental health. ‘Don’t get in a pandemic rut,’ the mother-of-four shared. ‘The more you move, the more you want to move. It’s all about the action, the movement. Even 20 minutes a day helps out.’

Brooke said she does a lot of different things during her workout routine, and a 45 minute walk is included.

‘It is my escapism,’ the fitness expert said.

‘I love to get out and walk and am really blessed with good weather in Southern California. I love to walk in my neighborhood, I get to say hello to my neighbors, it’s a good social plus.

‘I walk with my children and my boyfriend and we love the fresh air, the Vitamin D we get. The movement feels great too.’

And she loves both walking on the beach and in the mountains.

‘Both are just as beautiful. I like to take my dogs to the mountains and they get to run around,’ she added.

She also urged people to get in the mood: ‘Just get up, put your shoes on and get out there. Once you have your shoes on you tend to get in the mindset for a walk.’

There is also a lot one can do when on a walk.

Brooke tells DailyMail.com she likes to listen to audio books and music, and she even takes conference calls but ‘sometimes silence is the best to reset.’

And when she is walking with her kids, they have a catch up: ‘It’s nice to talk and walk with my kids with no devices.’

Brooke has four children: Neriah, 20, Sierra, 18, Heaven, 14, and Shaya, 12.

Her shoes of choice are Skechers because they are ‘comfortable, they are super supportive, they have 20 years of data in their insole, and I love the colors, they are fun.’

Brooke also has an app called Brooke Burke Body that shares several workout tips one can do inside their home.

According to a recent survey conducted on Skechers behalf by YouGov on walking trends since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, over four out of five Americans (86 percent) currently go on walks and the most important factors for consumers when taking walks are comfortable shoes and clothing.

According to the survey, over half (56 percent) of Americans have a goal to walk more in 2021, with 74% of those who have been walking more since the Covid-19 outbreak began are planning to keep it up in the New Year.

Walks have become a refuge for many Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic, with many taking walks to get out of their home or escape those they live with.

Over half of walkers (54 percent) take walks to get out of the house while 17 percent do it to get away from the people they live with. 15 percent take walks to take breaks from work/school throughout the day.

Just over three out of five (61 percent) typically take walks by themselves.: 93 percent of walkers say wearing comfortable shoes is important to them when taking a walk while 92 percent say the same about comfortable clothing.

Following her stint on Dancing With The Stars, Chrishell entered into a relationship with professional dancer Keo Motsepe, 31, who was partnered with actress Anne Heche for the season.

Keo supposedly pursued Chrishell during the course of the celebrity competition series, often relying on the star’s pro partner Gleb Savchenko, 37, to send hints her way.

In a sweet post uploaded to Instagram on December 3, Chrishell confirmed that her and Keo had decided to take a stab at love.

And things appeared to be going well, with the couple having just returned from a getaway to Mexico in late December.

He told Entertainment Tonight in July 2020: ‘I’m a happy guy. I sleep like a baby. I don’t have anything on my mind.

‘I treat people the way I want to be treated and I have lovely friends who love me and I love them. And I’ve got this wonderful daughter, and I’ve got a great family, and I am a very, very lucky, lucky individual.’

This comes just after she said goodbye to Justin.

The reality personality, 39, and the This Is Us actor, 44, reportedly had their legal separation finalised earlier this month after finally agreeing terms.

According to TMZ, A California judge made the ruling on February 8, after the couple revealed in November 2019 that they would be going their separate ways after two years of marriage and six years together.

It was reported by E! News that the celebrity couple, who are both now in new relationships, had finally settled the terms of their divorce last month.

While a source told Us Weekly, ‘Both parties entered into a confidential settlement as to terms of the divorce, including spousal support’, confirming the former couple did not sign a prenup.

Chrishell and Justin first started dating in 2014 after working on Young and the Restless together, before tying the knot in October 2016 at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California.

Justin cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the divorce filing, and claimed he and Chrishell had been separated since July 8, 2019, despite the pair being seen together on several occasions after that specific date.

In her response filing, Chrishell listed the ‘date of separation’ as November 22, 2019, which contradicted the July separation stated by Justin.

During the explosive third series of Netflix hit Selling Sunset, the Days of Our Lives actress claimed Justin informed her of his intent to divorce via text message, just 45 minutes before the heartbreaking news was made public.

She told her friend and real estate colleague Mary Fitzgerald: ‘I found out because he text[ed] me that we were filed. Forty-five minutes later, the world knew.’

Chrishell went on to stress that ‘forty-five minutes’ was not enough time to prepare for the onslaught of questions they were bound to receive from their mutual fans.

‘Because of the crazy way in which this went down, people want answers, and I f***ing want answers. I know people are saying we were only married two years, but it’s like, we were together for six years,’ she explained passionately.

The TV star also referred to Justin’s divorce filing as an ‘impulsive’ decision and that he would often use the same ‘I’m out’ approach during fights they had in the past.

Impulsive: She also referred to Justin's divorce filing as an 'impulsive' decision and that he would often use the same 'I'm out' approach during fights they had in the past; Chrishell and Justin pictured in April of 2019

‘In a fight, that’s [Justin’s] go-to, you know?’ she said. ‘Like, ‘I’m out, I’m out.’ I hate that kind of impulsive stuff, but I always just thought, you know, that’s just an issue that we work through it. If that’s really what you wanted, there are better ways to go about [it].

Explaining that they never discussed divorce further, Chrishell said: ‘I talked to him right after because I thought that must be a joke, but that was kind of the end of the communication.’

A source told People at the time of their split that the pair had been having trouble for a while’ and were ‘fundamentally incompatible’ as a couple.

The source said: ‘Chrishell is really ready to just settle down and be a wife and stay-at-home mom and was hoping to start a family relatively soon.

‘Justin wants that but also doesn’t think it has to happen in the near future and is at a point in his career where he wants to really be able to explore all the options that are coming his way.

‘He’s reached a new level of fame thanks to the show and he doesn’t want to close many doors right now, and that’s not the path Chrishell is looking to take.

‘She thought babies would happen soon after they got married, but it just hasn’t worked out.’

Though the divorce has undoubtedly been a difficult time for both of them, Chrishell and Justin have each entered into new relationships in recent months.

Six months after the announcement in May 2020, Justin was seen kissing his former Young And Restless co-star Sofia Pernas as she dropped him off at a doctor’s appointment.

It was confirmed shortly after that the couple had begun dating, however it is still unclear when they began their relationship.

They made their relationship Instagram official on New Year’s Eve, as they each shared a couple shot on their pages.

And Justin said: ‘Last minutes of 2020 here in LA. Bring on 2021! Happy New Year!’

Soon after, Sofia paid tribute to her beau on his 44th birthday, and said: ‘Celebrating this man with my fav screen grab. That smile!!! Lights up my sky. Happy Birthday, [darling].’

Sofia was Justin’s character Adam Newman’s on-screen girlfriend Marisa Sierras for nearly a year but left shortly before Chrishell joined the show in 2016.

Chrishell first publicly acknowledged her heartbreak over Justin’s new relationship in September 2020, when she told People it was ‘painful’ to see him move on.

She said: ‘I feel like anybody would be heartbroken to see how quickly or easily you are replaced, of course that’s going to sting.’

The 5 Best New Shows Our TV Critic Watched in February 2021

Rina Latuperissa

Published

on

Shaw Academy

February may be the shortest month of the year, but the 2021 edition certainly has dragged on, hasn’t it? Maybe it’s the cold and snow blanketing so much more of the country than usual, or maybe it’s our collective impatience with a slow vaccine rollout as we approach the once-unthinkable milestone of a year under varying degrees of lockdown. Whatever the reason, television can make the days pass a bit faster—and, thankfully, this month has brought a whole lot of quality programming. The rise of foreign TV remains a blessing; among February’s most worthwhile new shows are a literary adaptation set in 19th-century New Zealand, a distinctive Swedish crime drama, a delightful baking series from Britain and a must-see BBC drama that mixes the ecstasy of youthful self-discovery with the devastation of the early AIDS crisis. The final title? A quintessentially American documentary series that captures our country at its best and worst through the lens of the Black church.

For more suggestions, peruse my lists of last month’s highlights and the top 10 shows of 2020.

Beartown (HBO)

Most crime dramas open with the crime itself, front-loading the violent act that will shape the plot and developing the characters only to the extent that its exploration requires. Beartown, a Swedish HBO Europe import based on the novel by Fredrik Backman, avoids that template; writer Anders Weidemann (Interrogation) spends almost two of the miniseries’ five episodes spinning a web of conflicts within the eponymous struggling community. Recruited to salvage a hockey program that is crucial to the place’s identity and survival, retired NHL player and Beartown native Peter (Ulf Stenberg) moves his family across an ocean to take the coaching job, only to discover that the star of his new high-school team, Kevin (Oliver Dufåker), is the son of a former classmate (Tobias Zilliacus) who’s spent decades nursing a grudge against Peter. Complicating matters are the town’s hermetic insularity, the tense dynamic among the teenage teammates and a magnetic attraction that develops between Kevin and Peter’s daughter, Maya (Miriam Ingrid). By the time Beartown drops its bombshell, the scene feels both inevitable and crushing. But the show distinguishes itself much earlier—as a patient portrait of a stiflingly small place with a long memory; an investigation into the perils of masculinity; an icy Scandinavian take on Friday Night Lights; and maybe even a preemptive rejoinder to the upcoming Disney+ Mighty Ducks series, whose saccharine content is likely to be through the roof.

Danone

The Black Church (PBS)

The Harvard professor and public intellectual Henry Louis Gates, Jr. serves as executive producer, writer and host of The Black Church, which traces Black spiritual life all the way back to Africa, through slavery and civil rights, into the present. Early in the four-hour miniseries, Rev. Al Sharpton calls the church the “epicenter of Black life”—and Gates’ deeply researched retrospective goes a long way towards supporting that thesis. He explores the central role the church played in Emancipation, Black politics from Reconstruction to Dr. King to Barack Obama, and a cross-pollinating American musical tradition that took root in Sunday church services (if you don’t know about Sister Rosetta Tharpe, one of the first great rock ‘n’ roll guitarists, you’ll find out enough here to send you down a YouTube rabbit hole). Though Gates is a Christian, he acknowledges that Islam has also played a central role in the African-American community. And he’s not afraid to be critical, in segments that lament how socially conservative congregations have alienated LGBTQ community members and how religious infrastructures created by Black men have barred Black women from positions of power. Despite its traditional style, the series distinguishes itself through Gates’ candid interactions with interviewees who range from scholars and theologians to celebrities like Oprah and John Legend. He harmonizes with gospel singers, calls back to preachers and delves into his own faith. The Black Church is the kind of documentary that only someone with a personal connection to the material could make. [Read the full essay on The Black Church and two other new docuseries that dare to tell the truth about Black history. Also in TIME: read an excerpt from a book by Gates that serves as a companion to the show.]

It’s a Sin (HBO Max)

It’s one of the oldest stories of modern times: after growing up in a place that makes them feel like a freak or an abomination or a space alien, a young person lights out for the big city, in search of their people. But what happens if you arrive, find precisely the community you’ve spent years longing for, start living the liberated life of your dreams—and then it’s over just as quickly as it started? The party becomes a nightmare. Everything fun is suddenly dangerous. Your chosen family starts dying. It’s almost as though the universe is doubling down on the 18 years’ worth of shame you absorbed on your way to freedom.

That is the predicament facing the group of friends at the center of HBO Max’s deeply humane, richly observed, frequently funny and fully devastating It’s a Sin. The miniseries, which broke viewership records when it aired in the UK, spans ten years at the outset of the AIDS crisis in London. Creator Russell T. Davies—the prolific TV producer who previously chronicled aspects of British gay life in Cucumber, A Very English Scandal and the groundbreaking Queer as Folk—wrote all five episodes, anchoring his scripts in real history that has haunted him for decades and deploying rage, empathy and humor in just the right places. [Read the full review.]

The Luminaries (Starz)

An enchanting, enthralling miniseries based on Eleanor Catton’s Booker-winning 2013 novel, The Luminaries is set amid the New Zealand gold rush, and opens with two very different portraits of its protagonist, a young woman named Anna Wetherell. The first time she appears onscreen, it’s 1866, and Anna (a guileless but bright Eve Hewson, from The Knick) is a mud-caked, almost spectral figure darting through the night in a tattered dress and coat. A flash of gold dust briefly illuminates the forest when her hem catches on a log. Nearby, a gun fires, a man falls to the ground and she keeps running until she collapses at the door to a cabin. Quickly discovered by two men on horseback, Anna—known locally as a prostitute and an opium addict—is imprisoned on charges of vagrancy, public intoxication and attempted suicide. Nadiya Bakes (Netflix)

The Great British Baking Show has, over the course of 11 seasons, introduced dozens of lovable and talented UK home cooks to fans around the world. Its brightest star to date is 2015 champion Nadiya Hussain, a British Bangladeshi mother of three whose culinary skills and infectious enthusiasm have earned her a thriving career as an author and TV personality. That television work is finally starting to trickle across the Atlantic, via Baking Show‘s stateside platform Netflix. Last year we got the enjoyable Nadiya’s Time to Eat, but this past month brought an even more delightful sequel: Nadiya Bakes. In each of eight themed half-hours (“Savory Bakes,” “Baking on a Budget,” etc.) the ebullient Hussain keeps up a brisk pace, zooming through a handful of delicious-looking creations, with time left over to profile a relevant professional baker. If you don’t find at least one recipe per episode that you absolutely need to make, then baking will probably never be your thing. But, especially in these isolated times, the pleasure of Hussain’s upbeat company might be an even bigger draw.

NEW YORK (AP) — It’s a promotion that could be straight out of the “Mad Men” Don Draper playbook.

Brooklyn’s famed Peter Luger Steak House has teamed with Madame Tussauds to have celebrity wax figures mingle with patrons, promoting the easing of coronavirus pandemic restrictions on indoor dining in New York City.

A wax Jon Hamm — known for his portrayal of ad executive Draper in the hit TV series — could be found at the restaurant’s bar Friday with a cocktail in hand.

A wax statue of actor John Hamm stands by the bar with a drink at Peter Luger Steakhouse on Friday, Feb, 26, 2021, in New York. The statue, on loan from Madame Tussauds, will help fill out the restaurant during COVID-19 occupancy restrictions.

Peter Luger “thought this would be a fun, safe way to fill some of the seats that need to remain empty as we continue to fight the pandemic,” said restaurant vice president Daniel Turtel.

As of Friday, restaurants in the city were allowed to fill 35% of their indoor seats, up from 25% previously.

Peter Luger, in business for more than 130 years, will keep the mannequins until Monday. After that, they’ll return to the recently reopened Madame Tussauds in midtown Manhattan.

The United States vs. Billie Holiday Is a Messy But Passionate Tribute to an American Legend

Almost everyone has feelings about Billie Holiday, many of them strong. But no one can own her, and if there’s any supreme conclusion to be drawn from Lee Daniels’ disorganized but passionate drama The United States vs. Billie Holiday, it’s that. Daniels’ movie focuses on an underexplored angle of Holiday’s life, one that dovetails with all the things we know about her: Holiday had a traumatic childhood—she was raped at age 10. She was repeatedly attracted to controlling, abusive men. Her emotional vulnerability spurred a heroin habit she couldn’t kick. But her personal problems were intensified by a force determined to crush her, specifically the Federal Bureau of Narcotics, which pursued her with an obsessive vengeance that surely hastened her death, in 1959 at age 44. Holiday’s drug use wasn’t even the agency’s main problem with her: what truly infuriated them was her refusal to stop performing one of her signature numbers, “Strange Fruit,” a protest song—written by Abel Meeropol—whose lyrics evoked, with graphic if poetic detail, the horror of lynching. As one character says in the film, the song’s lyrics “provoke people in the wrong way.” “Strange Fruit” was deemed un-American, and the woman who gave it such potent life onstage and on record became an enemy of the state.

With that focus, The United States vs. Billie Holiday—written by playwright Suzan-Lori Parks and drawn from journalist Johann Hari’s book Chasing the Scream, a study of the U.S. government’s war on drugs—reframes much of what we know about Holiday, stressing her defiance rather than fixating on her personal miseries (however real, and crushing, they might have been). The movie’s chief energy source is Andra Day, as Holiday: the story takes place mainly in the final 10 years of Holiday’s life, and Day captures the singer’s high and low moments, public and private, in a way that feels vital and lived-in.

Holiday’s chief nemesis was Harry Anslinger (here played by Garrett Hedlund), the commissioner of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics and an outright racist. (Anslinger’s long, vicious reign began in 1930, during Prohibition, and didn’t end until 1962.) The commissioner knew he couldn’t send white agents into Harlem. So he recruited a young Black man just out of the service, a polite, handsome charmer named Jimmy Fletcher (Moonlight‘s Trevante Rhodes) to trawl the clubs, and to infiltrate Holiday’s inner circle specifically. Jimmy starts coming around, at first still wearing his uniform, sometimes bearing flowers or an album for Holiday to sign. Holiday, not yet knowing he’s working for the feds, takes a liking to him; in her kittenish purr, she calls him “soldier boy.”

Jimmy is part of the gang that busts her for narcotics possession, but the story of their complex friendship doesn’t stop there. Like many (though not all) of the figures in The United States vs. Billie Holiday, Jimmy Fletcher was a real person, an agent exploited by the government for his “usefulness” as a Black man. Later in his life, Fletcher expressed regret for what he did to Holiday, and their relationship—presented here as a romantic one—is one of the most intriguing and potent angles of The United States vs. Billie Holiday. The scene in which Jimmy and his cohorts burst in on Billie to arrest her—she would later be convicted, serving a sentence of one year and one day—is especially charged: she faces him squarely, as if to impress upon him the depth of his betrayal, and strips out of her ‘40s-style satin undergarments to stand naked before him. Her bare skin, rather than making her seem vulnerable, becomes a kind of armor.

The United States vs. Billie Holiday is a complex and sprawling film, with a sometimes confusing chronology; it can be hard to know exactly when certain events are taking place, and the effect is disorienting. But if Daniels’ films aren’t always neat, tidy affairs—a criticism you could easily lodge against the jarringly provocative The Paper Boy, as well as the grandly titled Lee Daniels’ The Butler—they always feel wholly alive. The United States vs. Billie Holiday may be at times unfocused, but it’s never boring. And as always, Daniels rounds up the finest performers and gives them great characters to dig into: Here, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Miss Lawrence play two of Holiday’s closest friends, confidants who travel with her and protect her—both are terrific. Rob Morgan, always superb, plays Louis McKay, possibly Holiday’s most heinous husband. (She was married three times.) And Rhodes hints at Jimmy Fletcher’s conflicted soul with the quietest of gestures. Jimmy is a man locked away from his own feelings, unsure how to free himself. Rhodes’ performance suggests that Fletcher, so convinced he was doing the right thing for the sake of his country, actually defiled everything his nation stands for by betraying Holiday. She was really the only America worth fighting for.

Day’s performance makes you believe that. She captures Holiday’s regal bearing, intensified by the elegant gowns the singer favored when performing. (The costumes here, by Paolo Nieddu, are a wonder to behold.) Holiday’s beauty and her carriage—even the boldness of the gardenia she fastened to her glamorously coiffed hair—are important in the telling of her story: her poise only made the feds—and racist white people everywhere—angrier. But if she was graceful and gorgeous, she could also be bold and bawdy. She swore freely and frequently. She loved her dogs, big and small. (Her famous boxer, Mister, is well represented in The United States vs. Billie Holiday.) And most significantly, Holiday’s vocal powers were broad and deep enough to hold everything, from the bittersweet joy of a pink sunrise to the soft-as-sable disquiet of a too-late night. For many of us, her voice isn’t just a casual listening pleasure; it’s a living spirit that we make a home for in our very souls. When Billie sings in The United States vs. Billie Holiday, it’s Day’s silky-supple voice we hear. She sounds like Holiday, but what she’s offering is less an act of mimicry than an intimate incantation, a spell of protectiveness. This movie is a fortress of dignity for a woman who, even as she suffered, refused to let herself be degraded. She was a world unto herself. No wonder her country sought to destroy her.
