I am 76 — should I reveal my age when applying for board positions?

I am an experienced chair, non-executive director and trustee and have worked in the City for more than 55 years. However, over the past five, I have not received a positive response to any of my board applications. I present myself as an active and experienced 76-year-old who likes helping companies and management. Am I wrong to disclose my age and experience up front? Male, 70s
