The cast of Friends took a trip down memory lane on Good Morning America on Tuesday prior to the release of Thursday’s reunion show.

The actors admitted that they have been watching reruns and some of them have made the stars cry as they saw the ‘powerful moment’. 

Jennifer Aniston and pal Courteney Cox shared they recently watched the one where Ross (David Schwimmer) and Rachel (Aniston) finally kiss after having crushes on each other for a while.

Tears: The cast of Friends took a trip down memory lane on Good Morning America on Tuesday. Jennifer Aniston and pal Courteney Cox shared they recently watched the one where Ross (David Schwimmer) and Rachel (Aniston) got together 

Jennifer said: ‘Court and I watched it the other day just to catch up on some stuff’. Courteney added: ‘We laughed and cried and – yeah. Their first kiss, Ross and Rachel, that was – ugh! It was so powerful’.

‘Yeah, she was in tears,’ Aniston added. The series ran for 10 seasons, premiering in 1994. The final episode, which aired in 2004, broke records with more than 50 million viewers.

Perry, who played Chandler Bing, revealed his favorite episode was The One Where Everybody Finds Out, which was the one where the gang discovered Chandler and Monica’s relationship with some very amusing scenarios playing out.

‘I did love The One Where Everybody Finds Out because I had very fun things to do’, Kudrow said.

‘I really liked The One with the Blackout,’ Schwimmer, 54, added.

‘I liked doing The One with the Routine,’ Cox said, referring to the New Year’s Eve episode where Cox’s character Monica does a hilarious sibling dance with her brother Ross (Schwimmer). Kudrow agreed, ‘so funny.’

Of the upcoming special, the stars teased laughs, funs surprises, games and lots of nostalgia. 

‘I hope the fans walk away with a sense of what it was like for us to have made the show,’ said LeBlanc.

It’s been emotional revisiting the show 17 years after the series ended.

‘I don’t think they – the – any of us had any idea how emotional we would be when we walked onto the set,’ Cox said, alongside her former costars Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Schwimmer, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc.

‘To see it exactly the way it was, the – literally besides the cookie jar that Lisa took home and the neon coffee thing that Jen took. Besides that, it was exactly the same. And it was so emotional that we just started crying.’

Perry, 51, added, ‘Reuniting this cast again – I knew it was gonna be a really seriously emotional experience. And it has been.’

‘Truth is, I didn’t cry walking out onto the set,’ Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay, admitted. ‘And now I can’t stop.’

‘Floodgates open,’ Aniston, 52, agreed. 

The special was supposed to be released in 2020 but was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

‘We wanted to do it a year ago to give back to all of the fans especially in the dark times we were all experiencing. Hopefully a year later, people will still enjoy it and it will cheer some folks up,’ added Schwimmer.

On Tuesday Extra’s Rachel Lindsay caught up with the actors to chat about what fans can expect, the stars’ first impressions of one another, and more.

Perry teased, ‘You’ll see love, you’ll see loss, you’ll see guest stars, you’ll see surprises, you’ll see game shows.’

Schwimmer added, ‘You’ll see the six of us in the same room for the first time in at least nine years, if not 17… We don’t want to give any spoilers, but it’s not just the six of us watching clips of the show and commenting about it… It’s a much more interesting and also nostalgic kind of special.’

When Lindsay asked for their first impressions of one another, LeBlanc turned to look at Perry, then joked, ‘I liked David,’ before laughing and patting Perry on the back.

He went on, ‘Everyone was so different and so unique, and I remember the first table read and everyone’s delivery and I was like… that’s such an interesting way to say that joke and wow, that’s funny.’

Schwimmer added, ‘The person I couldn’t imagine was Chandler… and until I met Matthew and we did the table read and I was like, ‘Well, no one else could play that guy… because that’s great.’

Matthew is engaged to his Hollywood talent manager, Molly Hurwitz.

Rachel congratulated the star, who thanked her as LeBlanc told her: ‘We’re very happy for him.’

Fans can watch the reunion special May 27 on HBO Max.
