Friday night’s $515 million Mega Millions jackpot has been won by a single ticket holder from Pennsylvania.Â
The winning numbers were 6-9-17-18-48, with 8 as the gold Mega Ball 8.Â
The person will get $348.6million in cash after tax has been deducted from the jackpot.Â
It’s highest jackpot winnings in Pennsylvania since it became a Mega Millions participant in 2010 and the ninth largest jackpot awarded since the game began in 2002.Â
The odds of winning are 1 in 303 million for Mega Millions, Today reported in January.Â
A mystery person in Pennsylvania won $515million in the Mega Millions.Â
The winning numbers were 6-9-17-18-48, with 8 as the gold Mega Ball 8.
This was the third Mega Millions jackpot won in 2021, following a $1.050billion prize collected by a group of players in Michigan on Jan. 22 and $96million prize won by a New York couple on February 16.Â
It was one of 53 tickets that matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball to each win at least $10million across the state, Mega Millions said. Â
All states require the winner to come forward publicly, except Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio and South Carolina, which lawyer Marty King recommended in a Today.com story is the ‘best thing to do.’Â
‘That means you won’t have to go to the press conference with the big oversized check and show your face,’ King told Today.com.Â
Many lottery winners have complained that scooping such a huge amount of money has destroyed their lives, and seen them besieged with begging letters after being forced to go public with their win. Â
The jackpot for the next drawing on Tuesday, May 25, resets to its current starting value of $20 million ($13.5 million cash).
