In the months before his daughter Isla was born, Scott ‘Fergs’ Ferguson was doing all the things expectant fathers do, like filming a gender reveal video with his wife, attending midwife appointments and having a baby shower.
But the 33-year-old was also fighting for his life, having been diagnosed with a stage four glioblastoma brain tumour in 2018.
Tragically Mr Ferguson died on March 31 – mere weeks before his wife Jaymie gave birth to their baby Isla.

But before he died, Mr Ferguson left his unborn daughter letters and videos detailing just how much he loved her.
“Fighting hard so that I can be here to meet you,†he told Isla in one video, 7News reported.
In a book he advised Isla to “grow up dreaming†as she doesn’t “have to live like everyone elseâ€.
“Your mum and dad will always be proud and think of you every day,†Mr Ferguson wrote.
Mr Ferguson was diagnosed with brain cancer three years ago after he collapsed suddenly in a shopping centre and was rushed to hospital.
At Sydney’s North Shore Hospital doctors gave the him devastating news that the tumour meant he would only live for few more years if he was lucky.

But Mr Ferguson defied doctor’s predictions and outlived the time given to him many times over, marrying Ms Ferguson in 2019.
“Doctors would look at his diagnosis and say, ‘You should be dead,’†she told 7News.
The couple began IVF after they got married and 10 months later Ms Ferguson fell pregnant in news that left them “ecstaticâ€.
Mr Ferguson underwent two surgeries, 56 sessions radiation and a gruelling 10 months of chemotherapy for the cancer.
It was only in the last few months that he lost movement in the left side of his body – not that he let it stop him from snorkelling during their belated Whitsundays honeymoon earlier this year.
Mr Ferguson died at home on March 31 “in no pain exactly as he wishedâ€, a “beyond broken†Ms Ferguson announced on Instagram a day later.
“Throughout this entire journey he was nothing short of incredible; he fought til his very last second never giving up, looking after me and his little girl til the very end,†she wrote online.
“The bravery and courage he showed was like nothing anyone had ever seen before.â€
Ms Ferguson gave birth to their daughter Isla on April 27, telling 7News: “He would have been such a great father.
“It’s really devastating I get to do all this amazing stuff and he is missing out.â€
A GoFundMe page has been set up in Mr Ferguson’s memory and has so far raised more than $31,000 to support Ms Ferguson and Isla.
