Footage of what looks like a Woolworths supermarket has been shared online, but the clip is causing confusion among shoppers after it emerged the store isn’t in Australia.

The clip, shared by TikTok user @billyfzeus on Wednesday, shows Woolworths-branded aisles fully stocked with the Australian brand’s products, captioned: “This isn’t in Australia.”

Among the items are biscuits, nuts and chips as well as jars of sauce and salad dressings.

Hanging from the ceiling are giant Woolworths signs bearing the Fresh Food People’s logo, while signage running along the shelf reads: “Taste True Australia.”

Those watching the video could be forgiven for thinking it was an Aussie store if it weren’t for the price tags, which are in Philippine peso.

“Selected Woolys (sic) products being sold at Shopwise supermarket in Manila,” Billy explains in the clip.

Woolworths has been exporting products overseas for over five years, with the Philippines being the latest to have a local partner with the Australian supermarket.

A spokesperson for Woolworths told news.com.au the items were extremely popular overseas thanks to Australia’s “strong reputation for food safety and quality”.

“We supply a wide range of own-brand products to selected distributors and retail partners across over 20 different countries – particularly throughout Asia,” the spokesperson said.

“Bringing our products to more markets is not just good for customers, but also for the food manufacturers and suppliers we partner with in Australia.”

Local media in the Southeast Asian country reported Woolworths’ partnership with Robinsons supermarket began two weeks ago, offering more than 150 Aussie products in the Philippines.

The clip, shared by ‘Billy’, an Australian man married to “beautiful Pinay”, has already racked up more than 23,000 views – many from confused social media users.

“Wait, really?” one shocked user said.

“Well, b**ger me,” another exclaimed.

Some Aussies were disappointed the offering wasn’t available earlier.

“Where was this when I lived there years ago?” one woman said.

Others asked how the prices compare, to which Billy replied: “It’s a little pricier, 159 Pesos and up.”

To compare, 159 Philippine peso is roughly $4.28.

Some said Australian Woolworths had also started stocking Filipino products.
