A hunter has claimed she will not stop killing animals despite receiving death threats online.

Brooke McGee, 26, began hunting at the age of three and killed her first animal, a whitetail doe, at six.

The Texan and her siblings all hunt, after being taught by their dad Craig, 54, The Sun reports.

But posting pictures of the animals she has killed online has seen strong backlash for her controversial hobby.

The hunter regularly posts pictures that show her posing in camouflage with her gun or bow alongside the animal she’s killed.

Ms McGee has also shared throwback photos of herself as a young girl standing beside a hog kill that is more than twice her size.

And many online call the act inhumane, with Brooke and her sister both having received death threats.

But she said the backlash will not put her off hunting.

Since that first deer when she was six, the sales manager has killed countless other animals including geese, hogs, and a 14-tonne black bear – her largest kill to date made when she was 16. And she has said she wants to kill even bigger animals, including bears, red stags and elephants.

While admitting she feels sad after taking a life, as said she respects the animals, but believes that living and dying is a natural occurrence and there must be a balance between them.

Texan’s typical hunt

A typical day of hunting for Ms McGee is generally in October during deer season.

She wakes at 5am and dresses in camouflage before heading out to the fields and lying in wait.

The trek is best before daylight, she claims, as she can then place stands on trees and stalk her target before making the perfect shot.

She processes the meat from the animal she kills and likes being able to provide for herself and her family.

Brooke will tag the deer so game wardens know it was a legally harvested animal and will then bring it back to her barn to clean it before turning it into steaks, jerky and sausages.
