Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia will register as a candidate for Chairman of the Golkar Party this evening, Monday (19/08/2024).
“I will register at 7pm,” he said when met by the media crew at the BKPM Office / Ministry of Investment, Monday (19/08/2024).
“There is no preparation. We are used to competition anyway, just fight ordinary competition,” he said.
Bahlil also claimed that he did not know if he would be the sole candidate in the election market for the chairman of the party bearing the banyan tree logo. Bahlil argued that the decision was the authority of the committee or steering committee of the Golkar Party National Conference (Munas).
“Ask the steering committee, I can’t say that. I am a participant in the competition, the one who organizes the competition is not me,” he said.
Bahlil said he was ready to replace Airlangga Hartarto, who resigned from the Golkar chairmanship some time ago.
“Yes, if you have advanced, God willing, you are ready, if you are not ready to advance, don’t advance,” he said.
In previous news, the Golkar Party National Conference was said to present the election of a new chairman by acclamation. The figure rumored to be replacing Airlangga Hartarto is Bahlil Lahadalia.
