Cranky, grumpy, half-asleep.

Those are just a few words that can describe millions of coffee drinkers before they’ve had their caffeine hit in the morning.

But while you may need that first cup to kick you into gear, you may want to think twice before being rude to your barista in the morning.

A former Starbucks employee has revealed the savage act used by baristas worldwide when a customer is bratty and obnoxious to them – and it’s enough to send shivers down your sleep-deprived spine.

TikTok user @dolltin said during his two-years at the coffee chain he “decaffed” countless customers for a variety of different reasons, ranging from being rude to pronouncing the word croissant wrong.

“I decaffed so many rude people, I would decaff people just if I felt like it,” he said.

“Like if you ordered a croissant and you said ‘kwa-sonte’.”

His video quickly sparked outrage in the comments, with many branding the move “petty”.

“That would absolutely ruin my day,” one said.

“What is wrong with these baristas,” another raged.

“You’re a menace,” someone else lamented.

While one woman said: “Employees are real people who deserve respect but this aint it.”

However, there were many who supported the act of revenge, stating those who were angry had clearly never worked in customer service.

“This is why you need to treat workers the best, always,” one user wrote.

“If you treat an employee badly, they’re gonna do the same back. I think that’s fair,” someone else agreed.

“This is the kind of pettiness I like to see,” one added.

Many stressed the move could be dangerous, stating people like long distance truckies need caffeine to keep them safe.

The video, which has prompted responses from other baristas making the same admission, has been viewed over 3 million times since it was posted last week.
