Boxing champ Anthony Joshua takes stake in CBD brand Love Hemp

Boxer Anthony Joshua is the latest celebrity to get involved in the City’s cannabidiol (CBD) craze. 

The two-time world heavyweight champion will be a major investor in CBD brand Love Hemp and work on a line of products for athletes. 

Joshua, 31, will be an ambassador for the group, which is listed on the challenger exchange Aquis.

He follows in the footsteps of David Beckham, a key backer of Cellular Goods, which floated in February. 

Joshua’s management company will be given an unspecified portion of stock instead of cash. 

Cannabidiol is the non psychoactive compound in cannabis plants and is often used in creams or drops to ease or treat a variety of conditions. 

Joshua said its ability to ‘improve people’s everyday lives is undeniable’.
