A clever mum has shown a way to lock the touchscreen of iPhones, keeping them safe from kids.

The feature will deactivate all touch-setting but will keep the screen still turned on. This is the perfect trick to stop kids who like to play with your phones.

The hack was revealed by a tech-savvy mum on Facebook and inspired thousands of others to try it.

She said: “Those if you with iPhones…if you turn on Guided Access, you can hand your phone to baby when they’re watching a show and they’ can’t hit any buttons!

“It locks it in that app. To turn off guided access, you have to triple click the home button (so it’s not easily done).”

To do this, you’ll need to go to the Setting app on your phone, the image made up of cogwheels.

Once there, then click on Accessibility, you can find it under the General header. At the bottom of Accessibility, tap Guide Access.

Now you will be able to toggle the Guided Access feature.

Once this is done, whenever you want to lock the touchscreen, you can triple-click the Home button.

If you have a newer model of iPhone, without a home button, triple-click the side button.

This is perfect to stop kids from getting into your phone or if you have cat, they can play with “virtual fish” apps safely.
