Girl’s brutal birthday cake request goes viral

Leona, from the US, may be just three years old, but she’s not too young to know the best part of any birthday is the cake.

And to make sure she was left with the lion’s share of the cake, she demanded it replicate the moment in the film where Mufasa dies and his cub Simba looks on.

Why? Because “everyone will be too sad to eat the cake and it will be all for me”, she said.

Leona’s family fulfilled her “genius” demand and her uncle Casey Feigh let the rest of us enjoy the moment by sharing photos of the cake on Twitter.

“My niece turned 3 today!! She asked for a Lion King cake but specifically the moment where Mufasa dies,” he captioned the images before revealing the hilarious reason behind her wish.

Since sharing the post on Sunday it has had more than 750,000 ‘likes’ and 109,000 retweets.

“OMG. I bet they were howling with laughter when they made this,” one woman said about the cake shop.

“This child is going places in life. That’s some great critical thinking at the age of 3,” another person commented, while a third said: “She’s going places, not places that require sharing but places nonetheless.”

Others appeared “concerned” over her “morbid” request, saying she had a “concerning” mind.

“She has a great criminal career ahead of her! I would worry about this behaviour,” one person said.

“Y’all see a criminal, I see intelligence. It is what it is,” another responded.

The uncle’s post prompted others to share photos of their children’s hilarious cake requests including one that involved a poop emoji.

“When my son turned 3 he requested a cake themed for ‘the diver man that takes Nemo’. 3 year olds are the best!” one woman wrote.

“My nephew turns 3 today and asked for an animal themed cake/party because he doesn’t like people. Which I mean, is fair,” another woman added.

One Twitter user who missed out on a cake and birthday party for her 40th said she was inspired by Leona’s cake request.

“I’m getting a redo this year so I’m going to request a cake of when Bambi’s mother gets killed,” she joked.
