IN THE MONEY: Steve Rowe, 53, Chief executive, Marks & Spencer
The pay of Marks & Spencer boss Steve Rowe slid as the retailer battled the pandemic.Â

Loyal: Steve Rowe joined M&S in Croydon in 1983 and became chief executive in 2016
Rowe who joined M&S in Croydon in 1983 and became chief executive in 2016, was handed just under £1.1m for 2020-21, less than the £1.2m he was paid the previous year when he had a £137,000 share award.Â
And it was less than the £1.9m of finance chief Eoin Tonge, whose package was boosted by a one-off £1.3m to compensate him for awards forfeited when he coined from Greencore.
