Mum of 11 reveals ‘mountain’ laundry pile

But spare a thought for a mother of 11 in the US, whose laundry “mountain” has gone viral after she shared just how many clothes needed to be put away.

Kansas mum Britni Church, who is pregnant with her 12th child, posted a series of videos on TikTok revealing how easily her laundry pile could get out of control.

“My husband has a pool table in the basement, it’s been covered in clean clothes, covered,” she said in the first video.

“Along with our folding table, and there may be a big pile on the floor. It’s all clean.”

Ms Church revealed her husband had asked her to get rid of the clean clothes on the pool table as he had a tournament the next day and needed to practice, so he moved the clothes into a bedroom where they could be folded and put away.

“Please don’t judge me,” she added.

Revealing the “mountain” of clothes, Ms Church joked that it was “about as big” as one of her young sons, who were playing hide and seek in the pile.

After procrastinating and “making TikToks” to avoid the massive job, Ms Church finally began folding, but had to leave the job unfinished despite several hours of work.

“I’m done for the night. Bball tournament all day tomorrow so update Sunday!” she said.

Ms Church’s videos prompted plenty of comments from other parents, who said they too could relate to the massive laundry haul even though they didn’t have as many children.

“Family of three and mine looks the same,” one person commented. “I HATE laundry.”

But several questioned why she was the only one folding the clothes, prompting Ms Church to explain that her six kids aged nine and up did their own laundry.

“My older kids do all their own laundry, the pile right there in front of me is their pile but it’s all probably clothes that they don’t want,” she said.

“I don’t make Silas and Christopher wash their own clothes, they’re four and five … half of the kids can’t do their own laundry.”

Others also asked Ms Church why she had waited “until it gets that bad” to put the laundry away.

Ms Church explained to people that she prioritised washing dirty clothes over putting clean clothes away.

She did around two loads of laundry every day but it “just doesn’t get folded”.

“I 100 per cent agree with you on that, why in the world would I let it get that bad, I agree, all that laundry,” Ms Church said.

“If I’m running late, I would rather have a huge pile of clean clothes than a bunch of dirty clothes.

“So if I have time to throw something in the washer and then in the dryer, I do it … at least that way it’s clean and not sitting there dirty.”
