Millions of gamers will be hoping to get their hands on eagerly awaited PS5 consoles which are expected to drop at retailers from this week.
Playstation fans have been in for a long wait for Sony’s elusive white and black two-toned machine which was released six months ago but simply proved virtually impossible to get hold of.
The consoles fell victim to a string of hold-ups for parts – not least the global coronavirus pandemic – as well as a giant shipping container blocking the Suez.
Retailer Game is said to be awaiting the biggest yet with 20,000 consoles on order from Sony.
John Lewis had been rumoured to drop today, although it looks like the restock is now planned for next week instead.
Elsewhere, Asda and Shopto are likely to restock the PlayStation 5 in the middle of the week, most likely on June 9.
Smyths is tipped to restock the PS5 on Thursday, June 10, while AO is also said to have a stock drop planned for the week ahead.
Gaming fans are known for coming together as a community and the lack of consoles has spawned a whole Twitter community of stock trackers, all trying to nab the console before it sells out again.
Those in the know will be keeping an eye on the PS5 Stock Alert UK Twitter account – which has reportedly proved reliable in the past.

And from what has been shared so far, Smyths, Amazon UK, ShopTo and John Lewis could be among the first to restock the PS5.
So what can gamers expect when they do get their hands on one?
According to Sony users can expect “lightning-fast loading with an ultra-high-speed SSD, deeper immersion with support for haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and 3D Audio”.
