To make the most of these small but essential moments with your spouse, Mr Chapman outlined five simple steps.
First he recommended smiling and showing your partner how genuinely pleased you are to see them.
‘It’s an amazing thing when you walk into the room and your spouse’s face lights up,’ he said.
After seeing your partner, be sure to engage with them by asking questions such as ‘how did you sleep’ or ‘how was your day?’
‘Be interested in what they have to say,’ Mr Chapman said.
To ensure these moments of interaction are positive, he recommended smiling, asking questions to generate conversation and avoid looking at your phone
Mr Chapman then recommends giving them a ‘hug or kiss’ and ensuring you don’t look at your phone during these interactions.
‘Take your time, don’t rush off and don’t pull out your phone,’ he said.
Giving your partner your undivided attention places emphasis on their significance in your life.
Lastly before heading off to work for the day, he also said to make sure you say goodbye to your spouse.
Mr Chapman has also released a guidebook titled ‘The Happy Marriage’Â to help couples build a stronger connection, get closer with date ideas and discuss important topics – including money, family, sex and parenting.
The book can be purchased on Amazon and Apple Books for $20.Â
