Teen’s gross lunch box goes viral

But what if it’s been there for 14 months?

One woman was so shocked by the state of her brother’s lunch box she couldn’t help but share the gross contents in a series of now-viral TikTok videos.

“It’s my brother’s first in-person day back at school since March 13, 2020 and he never emptied his lunch box,” Rachel Stecia, 21, captioned the video.

Students in the US have been working remotely due to lockdown, but when it was finally time to return to school, the teen realised he had never cleared out his lunch – which included a very, very rotten banana.

Instead, Rachel’s mother was left to empty the leftovers. But it didn’t come without a price. She took photographic evidence of the “science experiment” and in a separate clip, Rachel shared the grim photos of what was inside the box.

“The banana – I can’t,” Rachel captioned the clip which showed the fruit to have turned completely black.

The lunch was meant to be a sandwich and banana which many described as now looking “deadly”.

Rachel’s videos have attracted more than four million views and thousands of comments with people left in disgust by the teen’s rotten food.

“Y’all BETTER send that to Pfizer to create a new vaccine,” one user joked.

“My dad would make me eat it!” another person added.

“I would have thrown the whole thing away,” a third said. “Lunch box included.”

While one said “that sh*t is deadly”, another mused: “There’s no way I’m going to be that kind of mum – kid can clean his own mess.”
