Turtle Beach and Oakley want to help boost sight and sound in PS5 and Xbox games

Earphone maker Turtle Beach has teamed up with fancy glasses firm Oakley to produce what they’re describing as the next level set-up for pro gamers.

Turtle Beach are among the best headphone makers in the world when it comes to high quality gaming-grade earphones.

But they’re now hoping to go a step further by teaming up with the sportswear glasses firm to deliver a perfect combo of sound and vision when PS5 and Xbox Series X players battle it out online.

Oakley has been developing eyewear for gamers keen on becoming the best in high-paid eSports competitions on games like Call of Duty and Fortnite.

A spokesman for Turtle Beach said: “The new partnership pairs Turtle Beach’s expertise in creating high-quality, glasses-friendly gaming headsets with Oakley’s quest for optimised vision and performance in a collection designed to help gamers see better, hear better, and conquer their opponents.”

They’re first launch is the Oakley x Turtle Beach Collection.

It features Oakley’s Prizm Gaming Lens Technology which aims to reduce eyestrain and fatigue during long, intense video game sessions.

Their new eyewear now fits perfectly underneath Turtle Beach’s best-selling gaming headsets, which feature the brand’s patented ProSpecs glasses-friendly technology which caters for the arms of glasses under the ear cups for maximum comfort.

The first Oakley x Turtle Beach Collection includes two products. First, the Metalink RX frames, which come in black and grey and feature Turtle Beach’s iconic logo on the temple.

The Metalink RX frames feature headset-compatible temples to ensure they stay in place even in the most intense gaming sessions, and come with a custom Turtle Beach logo microbag.

Gamers who wear glasses can purchase the frames from Oakley.com, and Oakley will create custom Prizm Gaming Lenses based on their prescription.

The firms have also designed a limited-edition set of Frogskins Lite sunglasses, with a Turtle Beach colour scheme. The sunglasses also come with a custom Turtle Beach logo microbag.
