Vaccine app helps workers back in the office: Vacc-Trak being used by 11,000 firms to monitor how many employees have had jabs

Gambling giant Betfred and a hotel owned by ex-Manchester United footballers are among more than 11,000 firms using an app to track how many employees have had Covid-19 jabs.

Hotel Football – set up by Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes – said it was using the free Vacc-Trak app.

Hotel Football: It is using the app and says clients may prefer ‘staff working with them to be vaccinated’

Hotel Football spokeswoman Joanne O’Reilly said that a vaccinated workforce would help it in the hospitality industry, as clients may prefer ‘staff working with them to be vaccinated’.

The hotel, at Old Trafford, reopened last week with around 10 per cent of staff vaccinated.

She said staff who had and had not been jabbed were on a ‘level pegging’ but ‘if it gets to a point we’re turning down revenue because our staff aren’t all vaccinated, that could potentially be an issue’.

Betfred is also using VaccTrak – devised by employment law firm BrightHR – and said around a quarter of its head office staff had had their first vaccination.
