Chairperson of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Megawati Soekarnoputri, said she laughed when she read the news about Bahlil Lahadalia’s speech when he was elected Chairman of the Golkar Party.

Megawati said she was interested in the term said by the ESDM minister about the wretched King of Java.

“He mentioned the king of Java, how come he knows the meaning of the king of Java,” Megawati said at the PDIP DPP, Thursday (22/08/2024).

“I thought I wanted to get to know the king of Java too, since when is there a king of Java? Is it not crazy? Crazy,” said Megawati.

In his speech, Bahlil immediately gave an ultimatum to all Golkar Party cadres to obey and not fight the figure revealed as the King of Java. According to Bahlil, the King of Java has the power to harm all those who dare to fight him.

He also signaled that the figure of the King of Java had shown his power through a number of impacts experienced by people who did not obey him.

“So we have to be even more patent. The problem is, if we play around with the King of Java, we are doomed. I just want to tell you, don’t try to play with this stuff. Wow, this stuff is horrible,” said Bahlil.

“There is already a lot (evidence of the power of the King of Java), have you seen this stuff? Yes, I don’t need to reveal it,” said Bahlil.

Later, Bahlil then claimed that his speech was just a joke or political joke. However, it was delivered at the first and official moment he became the leader of a party after the sudden resignation of its General Chairman.

“Those political jokes. Not a political statement,” he said.

Likewise with Megawati, he considered that there was no figure who could be labeled King of Java at this time. The figure of the King of Java only exists in the history of the kingdoms of the archipelago. Today, everyone is the same.
