Prince Harry and William ‘won’t be friendly’ when they reunite, royal expert claims

Prince Harry and Prince William will be “cordial” instead of “friendly” when they reunite for Prince Philip’s funeral, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex is back in the country and staying with Princess Eugenie ahead of the ceremony.

However, he and Prince William will not walk side by side during the procession at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on Saturday, April 16.

Harry and William will instead be separated by their cousin Peter Philips, son of the Duke of Edinburgh’s daughter, Princess Anne.

Royal expert Andrew Morton told US Weekly that the brothers and their dad Prince Charles will “behave very well” and offer a “degree of integration”

However, he added: “They will be cordial, as opposed to friendly.”

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward also believes that things will run relatively smoothly.

She added: “For the period that Harry is [in England], they will very much put their differences behind them.

“I think that Harry will want to get back to [wife] Meghan [Markle] as soon as the funeral is over … so he won’t have a great deal of time to be in a potentially embarrassing situation with his family.”

Harry discussed his relationship with William during the bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The duke said: “As I’ve said before, I love William to bits. He’s my brother.

“We’ve been through hell together. We have a shared experience, but we were on different paths.”

Harry also said his brother and dad were “trapped within the Royal Family”.

US journalist Gayle King, a friend of Oprah’s, claimed the trio had spoken after the interview.

However, she said the talks were “unproductive”.

Earlier this week, Charles was pictured reading tributes left at a royal residence after the duke’s death.

He and Camilla paid a visit to Marlborough House Gardens, headquarters of the Commonwealth.

A Clarence House spokesman said: “The flowers and condolence messages have been moved from outside Buckingham Palace and within the Royal Parks to the private gardens at Marlborough House.

“The Royal Parks will continue to move the flowers during this period of National Mourning. Marlborough House Gardens was chosen so as not to encourage crowds from gathering outside the Royal Palaces due to Covid-19.”

Later in the day, Charles was driven to Windsor Castle for a rehearsal of Philip’s funeral.

He looked tearful as he left the castle grounds.
