A conman was arrested for dating 35 women at the same time to swindle birthday gifts and cards.

Takashi Miyagawa, 39, pretended to be serious about each of the women giving them all different dates for his birthday.

The part-time worker of no fixed abode from Kansai, Japan told one 47-year-old victim that his birthday was 22nd February.

Another victim, 40, claimed he told her it was in July and another 35-year-old woman said she thought it was April.

His birthday is really on November 13.

According to SoraNews24, the total number of victims currently stands at 35 but there are potentially more victims.

The women filed a complaint against Takashi after swindling them out of gifts totalling up to 100,000 yen.

Miyagawa has now been accused of conning the women out of 100,000 yen (£665) combined through money spent on birthday presents, clothes, and cash.

The suspect allegedly met his victims while working for a marketing company selling hydrogen water showerheads and other products.

He reportedly targeted single women and began each relationship with the suggestion that marriage would be on the cards.

However, his plan was exposed when the women formed a ‘victims’ association’ and reported Miyagawa to the police in February.

People who read the news online were a conflicting mix of disgust and awe at the scope of Miyagawa’s crimes and infidelity.

One commenter pointed out: “Even if he sees one every day, there’s still five more after a month!”

Another said: “He’s an awful person, but I envy his time-management skills.”

Someone also said that he “seems like he should be a better MLM salesman if he’s such a smooth talker.”

The investigation continues.
