Prince Harry and the Royal Family “put their issues to one side to focus on what mattered,” during Prince Philip’s funeral, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex landed in the UK on Sunday, April 11 to join the Royal Family as they mourned the death of Prince Philip, who tragically passed away on Friday, April 9.

After attending the funeral, which was held in St George’s Chapel in Windsor on April 17, Harry returned to the US – which meant he missed the Queen’s birthday on Wednesday.

Harry’s pregnant wife Meghan Markle, who is expecting a baby girl later this year, was told by doctors not to travel to the UK for the funeral but did send a handwritten note and a wreath.

The flying visit to the UK was a “family-focused” trip intended to “honour the life of his grandfather and support his grandmother and relatives,” a source close to Harry told royal expert Omid Scobie.

Reporting in Harpers Bazaar, Scobie writes that the royals “put their issues to one side” while Prince Harry was in the country.

According to the report, a source close to Harry said: “This trip was to honor the life of his grandfather and support his grandmother and relatives.

“It was very much a family-focused period of time.

“Saturday broke the ice for future conversations but outstanding issues have not been addressed at any great length.

“The family simply put their issues to one side to focus on what mattered.”

And after nine days in the UK, a source close to the couple has claimed that Harry was eager to get back stateside.

“Harry couldn’t wait to return to his heavily pregnant wife and Archie,” another insider told Us Weekly. “[He] is happy to be back in Montecito.”

Sources previously claimed Harry was “conflicted” over whether he should stay in the UK for the Queen’s birthday.

Prince William and Harry are said to have taken “baby steps” towards healing their relationship with encouragement from royal peacemaker Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Kate Middleton took several steps back to allow the brothers to chat, it’s been said.

He says that the Duke of Sussex also met privately with Her Majesty the Queen twice during his visit.

Earlier this week a source also claimed that Meghan Markle and little Archie spoke to the Queen before Prince Philip’s funeral.

The Duchess of Sussex reportedly spoke to the monarch ahead of the service and was in regular contact with husband Prince Harry and “knows this trip to England has been difficult for him”.

A source told People: “Meghan and Harry have been in touch every day.

“She knows the trip to England has been difficult for Harry. He didn’t want to leave Meghan and Archie alone.

“Meghan has insisted to him every day though that they are fine. She hasn’t wanted him to worry.”

They added: “Meghan spoke with Harry before his grandfather’s funeral. Meghan and Archie also spoke with the Queen earlier this week.”
