It hasn’t been decided if Duchess Camilla will be called “Queen” when her husband Prince Charles takes over the crown, according to her son.

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles wed in 2005 and the 73-year-old has been at Prince of Wales’ side ever since.

She is seen as a senior member of the Royal Family, and was recently spotted comforting a solemn Charles as the pair paid respects to his father, Prince Philip, who died on April 9.

Despite Camilla’s dedication, Buckingham Palace have never commented on whether she will be called the Queen when the time comes for Charles to take over from Queen Elizabeth II.

Her son, Tom Parker-Bowles, addressed the situation in an interview with The Times on Friday, April 29.

Mr Parker-Bowles told the publication he doesn’t know “if Mum will be called the Queen” and said it “hasn’t been decided.”

The writer said: “I honestly don’t know if Mum will be called Queen.

“That hasn’t been decided. There are a lot of interesting Sky documentaries about that I’m sure, but I honestly don’t know if that’s true.”

At the time of their engagement, it was reported that Charles “intended that Mrs Parker Bowles should use the title HRH The Princess Consort when The Prince of Wales accedes to The Throne”.

Royal insiders have since said Prince Charles may go back on this and instead name his wife Queen Consort.

The question over what Camilla will be called came after the Palace removed a section about what title she would hold after her husband’s accession from a Frequently Asked Questions section on the prince’s website back in 2018.
