Kate Middleton’s £8,600 ‘anniversary gift’ from Prince William spotted by royal fans

Eagle-eyed royal watchers believe they have spotted Prince William’s expensive gift to Kate Middleton in their anniversary portraits.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on April 29 with a collection of photos.

It was the hot topic for royal commentators Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito on their podcast Royally Obsessed.

Roberta was quick to point out the stunning necklace Kate wore for a few of the pictures.

“I read up on it,” she said. “It was in a star shape, and was $12,000 (£8.6k).

“I thought it might be an anniversary gift. People were saying that she had the earrings last year.

“The earrings are also like $30,000 (£21.5k), which is wild. So I’m a little confused by that.

“They’re the Daisy Heritage earrings from Asprey, London. She had them last year in March.”

Rachel said that some fans thought Kate had had the necklace the whole time.

But she believed William “did something sweet and completed the set for her for their anniversary”.

“That would be really nice and sweet,” she added.

The necklace is believed to be the Daisy Heritage Pendant, also from Asprey.

According to The Knot, it is a popular wedding gift to mark 10 years of marriage and is diamond jewellery.

As well as the photos, the Cambridges released an adorable video featuring their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The short clip was taken last autumn during a break at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

But, according to one royal commentator, the video showed the “double standard” between the couple and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

“Imagine for a moment that this production had been put out by Harry and Meghan; they would have been immediately excoriated for going full Hollywood, for showcasing their young son in a totally unprecedented way and for traducing royal values and standards in what would be read as a ravenous, unseemly pursuit of popularity and good PR,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Kate and Wills have launched their new YouTube channel with a funny clip which showed the Duchess cheekily scolding her other half.
