Prince William still feels “betrayed†by Prince Harry and there’s a “long way to go†before their rift is healed, a royal expert has claimed.
The brothers were spotted chatting after Prince Philip’s funeral last month, sparking hopes of a reconciliation.
Harry and William have been on “separate paths†for some time, and tensions are thought to have escalated after the explosive Oprah Winfrey interview was broadcast.
Royal author Duncan Larcombe said the pair had a “heart-to-heart†before Harry flew back to the US.
However, he believes their relationship is a long way from mended.
Mr Larcombe wrote in his Woman and Home column: “One senior Palace source told me that a great deal of water has yet to pass under the proverbial bridge before the rift is fully healed.
“They said, ‘The sight of the brothers chatting at the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral was the start of a far longer conversation they had that day, more of a heart-to-heart.
“This has certainly raised hopes [that] the deadlock between William and Harry can be fixed, but there is still a long way to go.
‘William regards Harry and Meghan’s Oprah interview as an utter betrayal, and feelings remain strong among other members of the family.
“[But] the duke’s funeral has reminded Harry of how much he stands to lose if he remains at loggerheads with the [people] who love him.”
During the interview with Oprah, Meghan Markle claimed that Kate Middleton had made her cry during a row over bridesmaid dresses.
The Duke of Cambridge was reportedly furious after it was broadcast.
A royal insider told the MailOnline: “Much has been made of the troubles between Kate and Meghan, and William and Harry – but perhaps the biggest strains now exist between William and Meghan.
“First and foremost, William cannot countenance the way Meghan has treated his wife…. to name Kate so publicly during the Oprah interview as the person who made her cry was beyond the pale.

“Meghan would have been acutely aware that Kate is powerless to fight back.
“Despite her growing confidence in public, Kate is a deeply sensitive woman who likes to stay behind-the-scenes as much as possible to support her family and the country. William thinks the way she has been treated is unfair.”
