A man suspected of killing his girlfriend tried to sell the dead woman’s car with her body still lying in the back, according to a police report.
The body of 44-year-old Pamela Paz, of Smyrna, was found on May 2 in a parking area in a suburb of Nashville, Tennessee.
According to a post-mortem report, Pamela had been strangled.
Her boyfriend, 31-year-old Robert Miquel Johnson was identified as a suspect.
“He was interviewed and provided an alibi, which was subsequently proven to be false,” local police said in a press release.
As the investigation progressed, a witness informed detectives that shortly before Pamela’s body was found, “Johnson attempted to sell her Dodge Charger with the victim deceased in the back seat”.
Police say Johnson is expected to be booked in Nashville on the criminal homicide warrant “in the near future”.
Pamela’s 18-year-old daughter, Kendall Smith, told local news station WTVF that her mother would have “fought like hell” to get away from her killer.
She added that even before her mum’s death was reported, she sensed something was wrong.
“My brothers were left home alone since Wednesday night and they’re like, ‘mom isn’t home,'” she explained.
“Because they’re 10 and 11 and can’t be home alone for days on end.”

Kendall told reporters her mum was a single mother of four, with two sons and two daughters. The two boys, aged 10 and 11, are currently in foster care.
Pamela was also delighted at having recently become a grandmother for the first time. Kendall added that her mum was “the life of the party” and always wanted to make people laugh
She is currently running a GoFundMe page to help with Pamela’s funeral costs.
“The police are working so hard to find the person the took my mother’s life and we will get justice for her,” she said.
