‘We hate Scotland’ chant triggers huge brawl between Scottish and English fans

Scotland were only allocated about 2,600 tickets for tonight’s Wembley clash with England because of Covid rules, but a reported 20,000 Scots travelled to London for the game with their Group D rivals.

That’s led to a massive spillover of Tartan Army fans across the capital, and one video taken in London this evening shows an ugly brawl breaking out between Scotland and England fans.

Many fans from both sides have been finding their own entertainment in Central London, and that predictably has in many cases meant some serious drinking, some public nudity – and a few scuffles.

In the video, England fans can be heard chanting “we f****** hate Scotland” at a group of Scots.

The Scotland fans respond by swearing in the rival football fans’ faces and before long a brawl breaks out between the two rival groups.

Men from both sides can be seen throwing punches and drinks at each other with one football fan being shoved up against a taxi and another falling to the ground.

A man wearing a kilt can be seen trying to break up the fight and shouting “that’s enough”.

Despite torrential rain in London tonight, the atmosphere was still electric ahead of this evening’s clash.

EdinburghLive reported yesterday how Scotland fans had been spotted partying at the William Shakespeare fountain in Leicester Square with one Scot even appearing to bring a sun lounger into the tourist attraction.

Another Scot can be seen splashing around while onlookers are understood to be pouring in bottles of washing-up liquid to create a fountain of foam effect.

While the match itself offered little excitement, with both sides appearing evenly matched, the supporters have unleashed a year-long lockdown of pent-up energy in some wild displays across the capital.
