Minnesota clinic shooting: 15 wounded after gunshots and explosion at health centre

At least 15 people have been injured following a shooting at a health clinic in the United States.

An explosive device was reportedly detonated during the attack at the Allina Health Clinic in Buffalo, Minnesota, 40 miles northwest of Minneapolis.

Nearby schools have been placed into lockdown while an active shooter was at large.

A law enforcement source told a Fox 9 News reporter the scene was a “disaster” with gunfire, bombs and multiple victims.

A witness claims to have heard “multiple bombs go off” in the area.

Local media is reporting that according to dispatch audio, four homemade bombs were detonated inside the clinic.

A man has since been taken into custody, the Buffalo Police Department told the Associated Press.

Kelly Prestidge, an office manager for the Buffalo Police Department, said there were multiple victims but no further information was available yet.

Chief Pat Budke told local media that the shooting happened inside the Allina Clinic Crossroads campus.

He said the situation was contained as of 11:42 a.m (local time) and that there was no further threat to the public’s safety.

The Midwest Medical Examiners Office, which handles cases in Wright County, has not commented on the unfolding incident.

The St. Paul office of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives told media it’s on the way to the site to help with the investigation.
