Firefighters are tackling a huge blaze that has engulfed an entire house in Acton as pictures show huge clouds of smoke billowing across West London.
At least 80 firefighters, and eight fire crew are on hand at an address on Western Avenue, following reports of a fire just after 8am on Monday February 17.
London Fire Brigade said a blaze has ripped through an entire loft, first floor, and half of the ground floor at a terrace house, MyLondon reports.
Pictures taken from afar show thick smoke coming out from the property, which is located near North Acton Cemetery and Imperial College.
According to BBC Road and Travel, the A40 has now been closed at Hanger Lane coming into London and long queues on the A40 and A406 should be expected.
Footage posted by the travel service shows a huge emergency services response as ambulances, firefighters and police rocket down the motorway.
The London Fire Brigade posted a video to Twitter which shows the house, that appears to be gutted, billowing smoke from a hole in the roof.
Another snap taken from the back of the house shows a massive black hole where a window apparently used to be.
A huge crane from a fire truck can be seen pouring water onto the top of the building as a firefighter watches on from the street.
The house appears to be in complete disarray, with a blackened roof, burnt out front windows and smoke still clouding the air.
In a tweet, the London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters are currently tackling a house fire in #Acton.
“The entire loft, most of the first floor and half of the ground floor is alight.”
It is unclear at this stage what caused the fire or if there were, or are, any people inside the blazing residential building.
