A stash of 80 “illegally imported” alligator heads set to be sold on eBay have been seized by police.

Officers believe the reptile heads were being flogged on the auction site to buyers around the world.

The seller is thought to have been making a “large profit” on them, Birmingham Live reports.

West Midlands Police raided a property in Perry Barr, Birmingham on Thursday after receiving a tip-off.

The force added it believes the suspect has been illegally importing the animal heads for “some time”, with boxes “arriving every few months”.

A 44-year-old has been voluntarily interviewed after the discovery.
