A married teacher who had “doggy-style” sex with a 15-year-old student in a field has been jailed.

Kandice Barber, 35, was sentenced to six years and two months in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday.

She was tried for a second time in January over allegations she had sex with the pupil in a field while she was working as a school cover supervisor.

A jury at Amersham Law Courts found Barber guilty of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and not guilty of two further counts of the same offences.

Barber had previously been found guilty of sending a video of herself surrounded by sex toys as she performed a sex act on herself.

Last year she was also convicted of sending a topless picture of herself to the boy on Snapchat.

The teen, who cannot be named for legal reasons, previously said he was “worried and scared” when rumours of their relationship spread around his school.

He claimed encounters included the married mum performing oral sex in a wooded area.

The prosecution alleged Barber had struck up a texting relationship with the boy, sending him suggestive messages even while she was teaching.

One evening they met up in a field near the school where they had sex in the “doggy-style” position for “about five minutes”, the prosecution told the court.

The jury heard that rumours began to swirl around the school where Barber taught and the boy was interviewed by his headmaster, although he denied everything.

In one message read out to jurors, the boy claimed Barber had threatened to “bring him down” if he told anyone about their relationship.

An NSPCC spokesperson said: “As a teacher, Barber would have been well aware of the vulnerability of young people, and it was her duty to safeguard those in her care. But, instead, she exploited her position of trust to groom and abuse this teenage boy for her own sexual gratification.

“Speaking out about child sexual abuse can be extremely challenging for victims and it’s important the victim in this case receives all the support he needs to help him come to terms with what has happened.
