British Airways flight declares mid-air emergency and forced to divert to Manchester

A flight from London to Aberdeen has made an emergency landing in Manchester.

An emergency was declared in mid-flight before the British Airways BA1306 was grounded.

The flight left Heathrow at 10.39am on Tuesday morning and was expected to arrive at the Scottish airport less than an hour later at 11.51am.

Eagle-eyed viewers of planefinder spotted the plane diverting from its route and heading for Manchester which it circled overhead before pulling in to land.
