A man who robbed a bank and drove away in a loaned car attempted to use stolen money to finalise the purchase of a BMW.
Eric Dion Warren, 50, was sentenced to 20 years behind bars for the June 2019 robbery of a bank in Wolfforth, Texas.
Court documents show Warren entered the AIM bank at approximately 12.45pm and handed the teller a bag and a note.
The note read: “This is a f—— robbery. Play with me and die. I want $10,000 in 50 and 100 dollar bills now you got 1 minute or I will kill you.”
Warren then pulled out what appeared to be a handgun and said, “I ain’t playing around, I only want 100s and 50s.”

The frightened bank teller took money from a drawer next to her and placed the money in Warren’s bag.
He then told her: “Don’t push any buttons,” it has been reported.
Warren then fled the scene and drove directly to a car dealership that had previously loaned him a vehicle while the sale of a black BMW was being finalised.

U.S. District Judge James Wesley Hendrix heard Warren entered the dealership and began waving around cash that he had got from the bank robbery.
Warren went to the finance office where he attempted to finalise the sale of the BMW with a $3,000 cash as a down payment.
While in the office, an employee received a phone call informing him of the recent bank robbery.

The employee realised the vehicle matched the description the dealership had loaned Warren and alerted police.
He was arrested with $5,086 in cash and police matched serial numbers on the with numbers of the bills stolen from AIM bank.
Law enforcement also recovered a painted pellet gun, resembling a real handgun, approximately 10 feet way from Mr. Warren at the time of his arrest.
The note given to the bank teller was also analysed and Warren’s DNA and fingerprints matched those on the paper.
