Prince Harry’s departure from the Royal Family has “changed the way” the Queen sees Prince William and she now “values his input,” a source told The Sunday Times.

The Duke of Cambridge and his grandmother have reportedly grown “much closer” in recent years as the Royal Family work together to steer themselves through recent crises.

Brexit, Prince Andrew’s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s exit have all been a strain on the monarchy, of which Prince William helped the Her Majesty manage.

William’s active input in the events reportedly “changed” the way the Queen viewed her grandson and now “values” his advice a lot more.

A courtier told the Sunday Times: “That has changed the way the Queen sees him and values his input.”

However, the Queen and Prince William reportedly have different approaches to running the monarchy.

In fact, sources reportedly told the Sunday Times Prince William wasn’t happy with the position Prime Minister Boris Johnson put the monarchy in when he asked the Queen to prorogue parliament at the height of the Brexit debate in 2019.

Mr Johnson was then forced to apologise to Her Majesty after the move was ruled unlawful by the Supreme Court later that year.

Sources claim the Queen’s “above politics” position does not fit with Prince William’s approach and he would take a “more robust” stance on any requests he fears would place the monarchy in jeopardy.

The revelations come after Australian Royal expert, Daniela Elder, said Buckingham Palace are in the beginnings of a “cunning offensive” PR plan to counteract criticism from Prince Harry and Meghan’s TV interview with Oprah.

She claims the Palace have “bided their time” before going on the “offensive,” giving the nod to friends of the Royals to speak on sitting senior Royals.

Ms Elser said the first indication of this plan was initiated at the weekend with the publication of the Sunday Times “The Other Brother,” piece, which was a detailed profile of Prince William.

She wrote: “Rather than parrying with the Sussexes and trying to directly land a few punches (metaphorically speaking of course), instead the palace has crafted a far more canny approach, having bided their time and made the decision to retaliate on their own terms.
