Bloke, 20, kills himself in tragic Russian roulette ‘game’ gone wrong

A law student has died after playing a “game” of Russian roulette while drinking with a pal.

Tragic 20-year-old Cades Emanuel Pimenta Santos Norte died after shooting himself in the municipality of Janauba, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, according to local military police.

It is reported that he shot himself in the head while playing the potentially deadly game with a friend, although it is not yet known who the weapon belonged to.

The friend who witnessed Cades’s death gave a statement at the local police station.

He told officers that Cades called him to come over to his house to drink alcohol and listen to music.

The young man agreed and when he arrived at the house, he said the student already had the .38 calibre revolver in his hand.

He added that they both played Russian roulette, taking it turns to fire the gun with one bullet in the chamber.

He said he received the gun from Cades twice before the student pulled the trigger again and allegedly shot himself in the head.

The friend, who had known the deceased for over six years, added that the pair had played the dangerous game at least four times in the past.

Cades was buried at Sao Lucas cemetery in Janauba.

The police said the victim died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and it is unclear if they will be investigating the tragic incident further.

Russian roulette is a lethal game of chance in which a player places a single round in a revolver, spins a cylinder, places it against their head and pulls the trigger in the hope that the loaded chamber does not fire.
