Passers-by at a crash in Liverpool courageously tried to lift a bus off a woman after she became trapped underneath the vehicle.
However, despite the best efforts from the members of the public the mum in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tragic incident happened on Smithdown Road in Liverpool on Saturday evening at around 7.20pm, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Photos from the scene show members of the emergency services lying on the ground reaching under the Stagecoach bus.
Footage has now emerged of people trying to help free the woman with them shouting ‘heave’ and straining with the vehicle following the crash.

According to the friends of the victim, she was married and had a child.
Leanne Kelly said: “Something needs done on that road ASAP, too many people getting killed and right outside a school where kids cross daily too.
“No person should have to go through anything like this.
“Thinking of all people at this situation, devastated for them all.”
Road closures were put in place as police, fire crews and paramedics rushed to the scene, near the junction with Greenleaf Street.

Officers have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “We can confirm an investigation is underway following a fatal collision in Liverpool this evening, Saturday, 3 April.
“At around 7.20pm, officers were called to Smithdown Road near the junction with Greenleaf Street following reports of a collision involving a bus and a pedestrian.
“The pedestrian, a woman in her 30’s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers at this time.”

On Sunday, March 4 in Brownhills High Street, Walsall a two-week-old baby was killed after the pram he was in was hit by a BMW in a serious collision.
The baby boy was being pushed by his family along the pavement at around 4pm when the tragic incident occurred.
The driver left the scene but a 34-year-old man was arrested in Bloxwich shortly afterwards.
