Fully vaccinated Brits could soon be packing their swimsuits as a tourist chief for the Canary Islands expects the government to add them to the green list.
Downing Street is expected to make an announcement within days that would see double jabbed British travellers holiday in the Spanish Islands from July 15 without the need to quarantine.
Speaking to The Mirror, Jose Manaricua, president of the Federation of Entrepreneurs and Hoteliers of Las Palmas said: “From July 15 it appears the British Government is not going to force people to quarantine when they come to a destination like the Canary Islands.
“It means we can look forward to receiving British tourists who will not have to self-isolate when they return.”

It was previously expected the Canaries would be on the green list from August but the expected announcement allows tourists to plan their trip earlier than originally planned.
Brits will soon be able to visit popular Islands like Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and more.
The Canary Islands have also said they will not be requiring tourists to get tested if they’ve had at least one jab, but only double vaccinated Brits will be able to escape quarantine on their return.
Mainland Spain and other Mediterranean countries could also be removed from the amber list when the next announcement is made.
Currently, all countries on the UK’s amber list require travellers to quarantine for 10 days.

Transport Minister Grant Shapps recently put Malta and Spain’s Balearic Islands, which includes Majorca, Menorca, and Ibiza, all on the green list.
The news prompted airlines to try to keep up with demand with UK holidaymakers likely to fly out to Majorca from Wednesday.
Operator Ryanair has already added 200,000 seats to the Balearics and Malta with Jet2 having added 70 flights.

Authorities for the islands have warned Brits to observe Covid rules while visiting.
Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Cristina del Rio Fresen, leader of global tourism safety for the Canary Islands, said: “If you have been vaccinated, all you have to show is a vaccine certificate.”
“Even Brits with one jab can skip the test requirements, as long as the first dose was taken at least 15 days before arrival, and within four months of travelling.
“Brits who have recovered from Covid also won’t need a test but will need official medical documents showing proof of infection.”
