A telly psychic said he lost his powers in a car crash – but was branded a liar and hit with a £100,000 legal bill.
Maurice Amdur, 56, who had his own show on Sky, was on his way home from collecting a new £80,000 Jaguar XKS convertible when he was hit from behind.
He suffered head and spine injuries and also claimed it wrecked his work by stripping him of the concentration needed to “read†for “rich and famous†clients.
Mr Amdur, whose show was called Maurice’s Psychic World, lodged a £250,000 claim for damages against the other driver’s insurer.

He also claimed the 2015 smash at Marble Arch in central London left him impotent and ruined his relationship with his then-girlfriend.
Mr Amdur, of St John’s Wood, north-west London, said: “I had performance anxiety because I couldn’t use my arms.â€
And he “felt he did not have the mental sharpness and ability to concentrate sufficiently to do a good jobâ€.

But at Central London County Court, Judge Elizabeth Backhouse rejected his claim and ordered him to pay six-figure costs.
She said: “I am prepared to accept he may not have felt well enough to do as many as usual or to work to normal capacity but I am satisfied that he did some readings.
“Clearly, he must have known that he did that work and I find that in this respect he has been dishonest.
“I am satisfied that this is fundamental dishonesty in that the dishonesty went to a substantial part of the claim.â€
The judge noted that Mr Amdur “strenuously denies all allegations of dishonestyâ€.
