A man got the shock of his life when a five-metre crocodile jumped into his boat and attack him in front of his three friends.
The group had been enjoying a fishing trip inside Kakadu National Park, in the Northern Territory, on April 24, when the incident happened.
NT Health said the man, 32, and three other people had stopped on the river near the banks of Mud Island to cook dinner.
The smell of food on board is said to have “motivated” the hungry reptile to launch itself at the boat.
It is understood the man, from Wollongong, was injured, while the other three came out of the attack unscathed.

Crocodile expert Adam Britton described the behaviour as “unusual” but added that it “can happen” and people should always be vigilant.
He told ABC News: “It can happen, especially if they’ve got something to rest against like the side of a boat.”
Dr Britton said the recent wet season had filled river systems, making it easier for crocodiles to freely roam the park.

The area boasts over 2,000 plant species and an array of wildlife from saltwater crocodiles to fallback turtles.
If found, the crocodile is likely to be removed from the park.

In the first four months of 2021, there have been six reported crocodile attacks on humans in Australia, with one fatality in North Queensland.
Back in February, Andrew Heard, 69, a keen fisherman, was found inside a four-metre crocodile.
He had gone a fishing trip to Gayundah Creek, located between Cairns and Townsville, in a tiny dinghy boat when he was attacked.
Rangers later euthanised the crocodile.
