A mum who went into labour four weeks early after scooping £1million on the lottery is getting married.
Natalie Metcalf, 39, had to put the champagne on ice until after baby Poppy’s safe arrival.
The mum went into labour after being shocked by the news she bagged the huge prize in the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker competition.
She said: “On one hand you are really excited you have this life-changing amount of money and on the other, it was panic stations because something was happening that shouldn’t be happening yet.â€
Natalie, who won the prize on February 1, 2019, had to postpone the 10am meeting with their National Lottery Winners’ Advisor after she went into early labour after their daughter had other ideas.
Poppy was born at 12.02pm safely the same day.
Natalie and fiancé Andy Symes, who also have a son, Noah, four, originally set their wedding date for July last year.
They will finally tie the knot next month in their dream wedding at a country house in Somerset.
The lucky couple had to rearrange their original plans but have been happily organising their dream wedding ever since.

Natalie, now a full-time mum to Poppy and big brother Noah, four, says: “The National Lottery win has allowed me to be at home with the children, a luxury I never thought possible.
“It has also given us the opportunity to own our own home and get married, which were the two things I wanted most in the world. I couldn’t be happier.â€
Andy and Natalie also mentioned the idea of adding to their family with another baby, with Andy joking they want another child because last time they scooped a win on the lottery.
The couple from Thornbury, Glos, have also bought a cockapoo puppy since the 2019 EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker win.
