A family have hit back at an airline after they were ‘kicked off’ a flight after their toddler wasn’t wearing a face mask.
The couple, who were travelling with their children, Rikki, two, and Daniel, seven, who has special needs, were on the flight on Monday after holidaying in Florida.
Mum, Avital Eisenberg, who is seven months pregnant, was sitting with her daughter Rikki on her lap when the flight attendant came over to inform them they were not following the face mask policy.
The pair told Fox News the crew member said as the daughter, who was eating at the time, was not wearing a face covering, that they would have to leave the plane.
Avital added she explained that her son, who was sitting in between her and her husband, has frequent seizures and that covering his mouth can induce them and promised to make sure he kept the covering on.
A video of the exchange was posted online, and shows the attendant telling the family to get off the plane for “non-compliance”.
“I told you, non-compliance — you’ll have to get off. I didn’t want to do this,” says an aircrew member who was not the co-worker who initially confronted the family.

“We’re wearing masks,” Avital Eisenberg says.
After some arguing, the flight attendant leaves and threatens to call the police.
“She just kept repeating that she needs me to deplane and I said I’m not going anywhere, I didn’t do anything wrong,” Avital Eisenberg told Fox News.
“We tried to explain that we’re doing everything we can with the kids.”
Passengers nearby came to the family’s defence, with one man saying he will make sure the family wear coverings during the flight.
Another says other young children are on the plane and not wearing face masks.
The dad argues that they also have a son with special needs on board with them.
Other videos posted online show the family getting out of their seats, along with other passengers after everyone is told to disembark the flight.
A spokesperson for Spirit told Fox News that all passengers on the plane, including the family, reboarded after the company’s team in Orlando assured that the family would follow the mask policy.
The airline said the parents refused to wear masks and the actions were not concerning their children, the couple said this was a ‘lie’.
A federal mandate, issued by President Joe Biden, requires all individuals over the age of two must wear a mask on planes, trains and buses.
