With Covid-19 restrictions being relaxed, it’s time to enjoy what the UK has to offer. So as our brilliant venues open up again, why not book in a “day-cation” to celebrate?

Choose a day trip during National Lottery Open Week (Saturday 5 June to Sunday 13 June) and you can dial-up the delights with an array of free entry or special offers at hundreds of UK venues with your National Lottery ticket.

The nine-day event is a big thank you to National Lottery players who raise £30million for good causes every week*. There are hundreds of National Lottery-supported venues across the UK taking part so you won’t have to travel far to be part of the fun.

Sports fans can book themselves a discounted tour at Wembley Stadium, while art enthusiasts can get free entry to the fascinating new Grayson Perry exhibition at York Art Gallery which shines a light on Grayson Perry’s exploration of the potential of pottery.

National Lottery players in Scotland can enjoy free entry to many of the National Trust for Scotland’s sites including historic keep Alloa Tower and Falkland Palace which has one of Britain’s oldest tennis courts.

Meanwhile English Heritage is offering free teas and coffees to visitors to Kenwood House, Marble Hill, Wrest Park, Belsay Hall, Dover Castle, Walmer Castle and Stonehenge.

History buffs can learn more about some of the UK’s most famous figures such as Charles Dickens and Heath Robinson with free entry into their museums, while Sir Walter Scott’s life at Abbotsford (below) in the Scottish Borders can be explored with free garden entry.

Science buffs shouldn’t miss the grade II listed telescope at Jodrell Bank where free hot drinks are on offer in the Planet Cafe, while nature lovers can enjoy free entry to the incredible biomes at the Eden Project in Cornwall as well as free entry to many of the RSPB’s UK-wide sites, which will be teeming with life thanks to the warmer weather.

For those in or within easy reach of Wales, St Fagan’s National Museum of History is a must-see with more than 40 historical buildings to explore as well as traditional crafts being practised and many of the products being sold on site – National Lottery players can enjoy 20% off in the gift shop during National Lottery Open Week.

And if you’re still in stay-at-home mode, there are online offers to indulge in, from a free creativity session with artist Robert Fitzmaurice to a free remote day of dance with Para Dance UK.
