Gunmen have killed at least two people after opening fire on a crowd who had gathered for a concert.

A white Nissan Pathfinder pulled up to a billiards club in the Hialeah area between Midnight and 1am, Miami-Dade police director Alfredo Ramirez III said.

Three people armed with assault weapons and handguns then got out of the vehicle and started firing indiscriminately into the crowd that was gathered for a concert at the venue.

Two people are confirmed dead with over 20 victims injured.

“These are cold-blooded murderers that shot indiscriminately into a crowd and we will seek justice.

“My deepest condolences to the family of the victims.”

Many have responded to the officer’s tweet demanding more gun control in the US.

One user wrote: “No other rich nation is as insanely saturated with guns as ours. In none other does every unstable person or sociopath have such easy access to guns surrounding them like oxygen.

“American gun obsession is a disease, a toxic obsession, that is literally draining our lifeblood.”

Another said: “Are we ready to talk gun control now or still just thoughts and prayers?”

The victims have not been identified.

The Miami-Dade Police Department is asking anyone with information about the shooters or their whereabouts to contact authorities.

Gun violence in the United States results in tens of thousands of deaths and injuries annually.

According to the most recent data, rates of firearm deaths per 100,000 people rose from 10.3 per 100,000 in 1999 to 12 per 100,000 in 2017, with 109 people dying per day, being 11.9 per 100,000 in 2018.
