A thug punched his pal of 20 years to death after smashing his windows in a jealous rage.
Szymon Kaminski, 28, killed young dad Janusz Stradomski, 30 after his girlfriend claimed he tried to kiss her at their flat once Kaminski had gone to bed.
Seeking revenge the morning after the alleged incident, Kaminski and his girlfriend went to Mr Stradomski’s home in Hull, East Yorkshire, and caused £300 worth of damage to his windows.
Not satisfied with his payback, Kaminski told his friend to meet him at the Selby Street railway bridge in west Hull where CCTV captured him landing two punches on his best mate’s face, Hull Live reports.
Mr Stradomski hit his head as he fell backwards from the assault and was left on the ground unconscious, Hull Crown Court heard.
A member of the public called an ambulance for Mr Stadomksi who managed to get up before it arrived, only to collapse a short time later.
The dad of a three-year-old boy was rushed to Hull Royal Infirmary on October 9, 2020, where he was found to have a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain.
Mr Stradomski was operated on and put in an induced coma but never regained consciousness and died on October 29.
Medical evidence also found Mr Stradomski had an old head injury which required metal plates and caused seizures.
A family member confirmed it was caused during his service in the Polish Army and it forced him to retire.
Kaminski was aware of those previous injuries.
In a victim impact statement, Mr Stradomski’s father said: “I have never come to terms with my son’s death. His clothes are still in the house because it is too painful to deal with.
“Janusz was a role model to his younger brothers. If I had not encouraged him to come to England to work he would still be alive today.

“I am not sure I can ever accept he is gone and not over something so minor as an argument over a girl. Szymon was treated as a family member but I can never forgive him for what he has done.â€
A victim impact statement was also read out from Mr Stradomski’s wife.
She said: “We met in 2014 and married two years later. Szymon was invited to our wedding and he was like a brother to my husband.
“I had no idea how to tell my young son what had happened to his father. I cannot believe Syzmon did nothing to help Janusz after the incident.
“This has destroyed my life and left my son without a father.â€
Judge John Thackray sentenced Kaminski to five years in jail after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
