Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new aide previously said all white people are “rife†with “internalised racismâ€, according to reports.
Their new strategist Genevieve Roth claimed they also have “unconscious bias†and needed to “get clear†about it.
She founded New York-based Invisible Hand, which is now advising the couple’s Archewell Foundation.
And she said she realised she was “racist†herself after tying the knot with her black husband Jordan, the Telegraph reports.
Ms Roth, who worked for the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign in 2016, said she suddenly understood how he was treated differently to her.
She said: “Race is an issue in our marriage because as a white woman of privilege, I have racist tendencies written in at a cellular level.â€
Harry has previously said his upbringing and education resulted in him having no understanding of unconscious racial bias until he met his wife.
Prince Harry told GQ magazine he had “no idea†unconscious bias existed and it took him “many, many years†to realise it.
Writing in Good Housekeeping last year, Ms Roth wrote: “It does not matter how many marches I have planned or how many progressive candidates I have campaigned for or how many times I have chanted Black Lives Matter in the streets: I am rife with internalised racism and unconscious bias.
“And to all of the non-black folks reading this, we need to get clear on something: So are you.â€
The partnership between Ms Roth and Archewell was announced this week, as other changes to the foundation were also confirmed.
Chief of staff Catherine St Laurent has left her job after just a year working with the couple, having been employed last April.
She served as the executive director, but is now launching her own new social impact firm and has taken on an advisory role at the charity.
A spokesman for the Sussexes said: “She will continue to bring high-level strategic guidance to Archewell, which she helped launch and build over the course of the past year.â€
James Holt, their representative in the UK, will replace her.
