Men brazenly walk out of store with rack full of clothes ‘they didn’t pay for’

Two brazen men were spotted walking out of a clothing store with arms full of clothes which they had allegedly not paid for.

A shopper filmed the pair from inside the TJ Maxx in Granada Hills, Los Angeles of California over the weekend.

In the video shared on Instagram, he stands near the entrance and watches two men walking out of the shop, with dozens of pieces of clothing.

He sarcastically says: “Hey, that looks great.”

One man, who wears a purple hoodie and blue jeans, is seen carrying at least a dozen pairs of jeans while his pal holds an oversized duffle bag over his shoulder and arms full of clothes.

Other shoppers watch on in awe and no security guards or staff members step in to stop them from leaving the shop.

The cameraman follows the pair out of the shop to the car park.

He yells at them: “What’s up guys? I wanna see how far you can get.”

The men casually walk up to a black saloon and eventually drive away.

The shopper later explained in his video: “I kept my distance for safety reasons. I also wasn’t able to take a proper video because I was dealing with my little dog Zoey.

“My focus was to get a license plate number, but when I lost them behind the SUV, I had to hold back a bit, just in case they were waiting for me.

“Unfortunately they were able to get into their vehicle parked at a distance and drive away.”

Los Angeles Police Department were alerted of the incident but said “no arrests have been made”.

Sergeant Jerretta Sandoz, told CBSLA of the incident: “They didn’t even run out, they walked out.

“And so, that’s sending a message that ‘we, the criminals, are winning.’

“If they’re caught, they’re probably given the equivalent of a traffic ticket. So it’s not taken seriously.”

She also blamed the situation on Proposition 47, a measure passed by voters in the state that downgraded charges of property theft of less than $950 (£690) in value from a felony to a misdemeanour.
