Tributes have flooded in for a two-year-old boy who was killed after being hit by a car outside a playground built in the middle of a road.

Alex Radan was struck by a car driven a neighbour was driving near to the play area in Dumfries, Scotland, on Friday night.

Alex lived close to the park with devastated parents Christina and George and older brother, the Daily Record reports.

The family, originally from Bucharest in Romania, are understood to have settled in Scotland in December 2015.

It is believed the boy was hit when he left a fenced play park, which sits in an island in the middle of a road.

The 54-year-old man driving the car was uninjured.

Yesterday a white bunny rabbit and floral tribute marked the spot of the accident.

One neighbour, who didn’t want to be named, said the community was in shock.

They also said residents had concerns about where the park was situated.
